Teacher (Lower) Secondary Maths/ Sciences (40-50%)

Academia International School Zurich is a bilingual (German/English) or English-language secondary school (grades 7–12) that prepares students for the International A Level. This qualification gives pupils access to universities all over the world. In Years 7 and 8 we teach according to the Cambridge Curriculum and the Swiss curriculum Lehrplan 21, and from Year 8 onwards we follow the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel Curriculum, leading students to the internationally recognised IGCSE- and A-Level-qualifications. Our schools are characterised by a personal atmosphere, a strength-based learning environment and an open, multicultural environment. Academia International School started in Basel in 2009 and has grown steadily since then: in 2019 and 2023 we opened two more locations in Zurich and Winterthur respectively.

Aufgabe
  • Teach mathematics and science for years 7-9 following the Pearson Edexcel curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare, and evaluate lessons, including long-term planning and team coordination.
  • Organise excursions, school trips, project weeks, and special events.
  • Support and implement the school's pedagogical concept.
  • Foster a positive learning environment and provide individual student support.
Profil
  • Teaching degree and teaching experience in mathematics and science; experience with Pearson Edexcel curriculum is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to planning and classroom management.
  • Team player with a commitment to innovative and inclusive teaching.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities, including trips and events.
